How Daniël got here
Daniël started as an electrician trainee at Roshcon, part of Eskom Enterprises, in 2013. He passed his trade test at NorthLink College in 2016 and spent six years at Tiervlei Electric, wiring houses and industrial buildings, testing installations for COCs and doing the repairs to get them through.
He then spent three years as an electrician at Stellenbosch University, looking after distribution boards, lighting and standby generators across the campus, before starting his own company, Phasor Electric.
I'm an electrician because I love working with my hands, and the work takes me into places and around machinery most people never get to see. I get real satisfaction from reticulating electricity and then testing the installation once it's done. The trade runs on rules and regulations, and that suits who I am: I like things done properly and by the book. In a way I'm a lot like electricity itself. I don't make a lot of noise, but when you need me, I'm there.
